Calling and AI Disclosure
Who is calling, whether it is a person or an AI, what permission that call needed, and how to make it never happen again.
Some MitHub calls are made by a person and some by an AI voice agent. An AI agent says it is an AI at the start of the call, and you can ask for a person at any moment. A marketing call using an AI or prerecorded voice only goes out to someone who gave prior express written consent for exactly that. Say "stop calling me" on any call, to a person or to the AI, and it stops.
Who is on the line
MitHub calls in two ways, and you are always told which one you are on.
- A person. Someone from MitHub, calling from our number.
- An AI voice agent. A system that speaks with a generated voice. It handles the first part of a conversation: confirming who you are, what you are looking for, when you are available, and handing you to a person.
The AI says it is an AI
The United States Federal Communications Commission treats a voice generated by artificial intelligence as an artificial voice under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. That means an AI voice call carries the same consent requirements as a robocall, not the lighter ones of a person dialling. We treat it that way.
What permission each call needed
The permission is tied to what the call is about and to how it is placed. These are the four flows, and they are not interchangeable:
| Flow | What it needs before we call |
|---|---|
| Company · service | You gave us the number and asked to be contacted, or we are already working together. A person or an AI agent may call. We still stop the moment you say stop. |
| Company · marketing | A person may call a business number about business. An AI or prerecorded voice may not, unless that company gave prior express written consent for automated marketing calls. |
| Candidate · recruiting | You applied, or you are in a process, and you gave us the number for it. A person or an AI agent may call about that process. |
| Candidate · marketing | Prior express written consent, given separately, for calls using an automated system or an artificial or prerecorded voice. Without it, no AI or prerecorded marketing call goes out to you. Ever. |
What "prior express written consent" actually means
- It names MitHub LLC as the seller, so you know exactly who is allowed to call you.
- It says the calls may use an automated system and an artificial or prerecorded voice, including an AI-generated voice.
- It includes the number you are authorising.
- It states, in the same place, that agreeing is not a condition of buying any goods or services, and it is not a condition of being considered for a job either.
- It is its own tick box, never pre-ticked, never bundled with anything else you were signing.
- You can withdraw it at any time, by any reasonable means, and we act on it.
Recording
Calls may be recorded and transcribed, for quality, for training and to keep an accurate record of what was agreed.
- If a call is being recorded, you are told at the start, before anything else.
- If you do not want to be recorded, say so. We either turn it off or continue without a recording, and neither choice costs you anything.
- Several states require every party on the call to agree before it can be recorded. We ask for agreement on the call itself rather than relying on where we think you are.
- Recordings and transcripts are kept like the rest of our records, and you can ask for a copy of one you are on through the privacy request form.
What shows on your screen
MitHub calls and texts from +1 706 403 3251, registered to MitHub LLC through our telephony provider, Twilio. Where branded calling is available, your phone may show the MitHub name, and possibly a logo and a reason for the call, next to the number.
- We do not spoof caller ID and we do not hide the number we are calling from.
- Our calls carry the caller identity authentication the United States requires of voice traffic, so your carrier can verify that the number really is ours.
- We do not rotate through numbers to get around blocking or filtering.
- If a call claiming to be MitHub does something this page says we do not do, it is not us. Tell us at contacto@mithub.club and we will look into it.
When we call
Between 8am and 9pm in your local time, unless you asked us for a time outside that, for example because you work United States hours from another country. Interview times and calls you booked yourself happen when you booked them.
Making it stop
Any of these works, and none of them is harder than the others:
- Say it on the call. To a person or to the AI agent. "Do not call me again" is enough, and the AI understands it in plain language, in English or Spanish.
- Write to contacto@mithub.club with the number.
- Use the privacy request form and pick "stop contacting me".
- Reply STOP to a text. That one word stops the calls too, not just the texts: a request to stop reaches every channel on that number unless you tell us you only want one of them stopped.
- We put the number on MitHub's own do-not-call list and it stays there. We act on the request immediately, and in any case within the time the rules allow.
- We check the United States National Do Not Call Registry before marketing calls that are subject to it.
- A stop request covers the number you gave, on every MitHub campaign, unless you tell us you only want one thing stopped.
- We keep the record of your request. That record is what stops a future campaign from dialling you by accident, which is why deleting everything about you still leaves it in place.
What we keep about calls
For each call: the number, the date and time, which campaign it belonged to, whether a person or an AI agent placed it, what came of it, and the consent record that allowed it. For campaigns covered by the FTC's Telemarketing Sales Rule we keep these, along with consent records and do-not-call requests, for five years.
Getting a person
Ask the AI agent for a person and you get one. Outside a call, ring or text +1 706 403 3251, write to contacto@mithub.club, or message +57 320 757 7561 on WhatsApp. A person reads it.
